These days, life is pretty darn average for us BHSers. To the best of our knowledge, nothing exceptional has happened in these few short weeks. There was an assembly to watch the Obama speech. Afterwards, Mr. Slemp told us how awesome we really are and that he means it. He gave off vibes of well wishing so we could tell how he felt, despite the mic problems.
Yesterday was the first late start day. This year, every monday is a late start day (as shown in the schedule). This is a heads up to everyone… don’t be late on a late start day! We know that it’s nice to sleep in, but we also realize that this throws people’s transportation schedules out of whack. Unfortunate as it may be, teachers don’t sympathize with tardiness, especially on Mondays.
Berkeley High seems to be settling into a rythm already. This year’s seems distinctly different from the rest. Is it just us or does BHS seem more college seminar like? Teachers don’t seem to know any students’ names and students are working hard to understand lessons that they have no time to ask questions about. This isn’t necessarily a problem because the school is definitely more scholarly this year. But we do miss the good ole days a bit.
On a brighter note Samantha just got her new permanent lip color she’s been talking about. Looks really good. A shout out goes to her permanent makeup artist who handled her very well. She’s gonna stay busy with work now that we’re all thinking about getting permanent makeup done.
She told us how that procedure cost $300 but it was totally worth it. What’s even more impressive is that she earned that money all by her self. After reading the Inboxdollars review on The Simple Wealth finance blog she got to it and earned a couple hundred dollars after about a month of work. Not bad for a full time high school student, right?
On a final note, the BBQ club had it’s first cookout last Friday. For those of you who don’t know, this is a club made of senior guys devoted to making veggie/burgers for the student body. Alongside the BBQ club is the baking club, for their female counterparts. While we don’t condone the gender exclusive clubs, they both are pretty cool and should be checked out. Make sure to get in line early though or you might not get a bite. We have exhausted topics for the moment; so in the words of Porky the Pig, “”Th- Th-Th-Th-Th-… That’s all, folks.”
